Educator

Georgina has extensive experience as an instrumental teacher, educator and workshop leader throughout Scotland, and is currently an Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation. She has previously worked with Big Noise Scotland and Nevis Ensemble - Scotland’s street orchestra - on a mission to take music to everyone everywhere. As a violinist in the orchestra, she is also co-leading several ongoing community projects and is currently on the management team as Sustainability Manager.

As well as her outreach work, Georgina teaches both privately and in schools across Edinburgh. She has over five years of instrumental teaching and coaching experience, in both individual and group settings, and is able to tutor in violin, fiddle, piano and music theory (in person or online). Coming from the background of both classical and traditional, as well as both composer and performer, Georgina believes that learning an instrument should be a creative, fun and exploratory experience for students and often incorporates improvisation and composition into her teaching.

“Georgina has been an exceptional violin teacher for our daughter. She has built an excellent rapport with her and has been very patient and encouraging throughout. From experience, she has gone above and beyond expectation to ensure that her pupils thrive under her tuition. We would recommend Georgina wholeheartedly to anyone considering her as their violin teacher.” (Current student)

If you are interested in inquiring about lessons or community work then please do get in touch. I am currently accepting students for online tuition due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19.
